Swedish Massage: Generally regarded as the most common form of massage, Swedishmassage involves a combination of five basic strokes and concentrates on the muscles and connective tissues of the body. A full body, lighter touch massage which aids in improved circulation, relaxation, pain relief and overall health maintenance.

Deep Tissue Massage: This deep form of body work helps to release myofascial restrictions in the body. It relieves chronic tension, increases range of motion and improves posture.

Sports Massage: This massage is geared towards both recreational and elite athletes. A deeper pressure, full body massage, ideal for pre or post athletic activity. Beneficial for those looking for a speedy recovery from their workouts.

Heated Stone Massage: This blend of Swedish and Japanese massage uses warm, smooth stones placed on areas of the body that hold significant amounts of stress. Some benefits include wonderful deep relaxation, significant stress reduction, detoxification of the body and an improved metabolic rate.

Massage for groups
On-Site Chair Massage: Is your staff stressed out and looking for the perfect pick me up during the middle of the day? Call to set up your own on-site massage therapy. A relaxation break will allow you to have a calmer, clearer mind and rejuvenated body. This massage is done fully clothed. We recommend 10 min. sessions per person. One hour minimum, two hour maximum.

Massage Therapist Bios
JR BACHMAN
JR is a Neuromuscular Therapist and Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. JR's primary focus is using specific, deep tissue therapy to improve recovery and decrease pain caused by soft tissue injuries, repetitive movements and sustained postures from athletic overtraining or jobs involving long periods of sitting and computer work. For over ten years JR has worked with injured patients and athletes, often treating in collaboration with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapist s, orthopedic surgeons, dentists (for TMD), and athletic trainers. JR has received thousands of hours of training and possesses several certifications in manual therapy, exercise and nutrition including physical therapy and biomechanics courses from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, manual therapy seminars at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as certifications in Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology (CHEK II) and Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching (NLC III). JR also has a degree in Bioengineering from UCSD and performs clinical physiology research on the health effects of living in space at the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, UCSD.
LUIS DE LA VEGA
Luis is a licensed Massage Therapist who specializes in Asian modality therapies including Seitai Shiatsu and Tui Na (Acupressure). He has extensive experience with sports related rehabilitation, bio-mechanics and exercise physiology. Luis believes that the use of various hand techniques and pressure makes this work very effective in relieving muscle pain, trauma, chronic fatigue, unblocking and restoring proper blood and energy (chi) flow to the meridians and muscles. Luis graduated from Concordia University with B.A in Exercise Sports Science and at IPSB with HHP, Luis is also a certified coach, competitive triathlete and runner.
LISA MERRILL
Lisa Merrill graduated from Mueller College of Holistic Studies with her Holistic Health Practitioner's (HHP) certification in December 2010 and is a licensed CMT through the State of California. She is trained in and practices Swedish, Deep Tissue, Thai, Prenatal as well as massage for disabilities. She has been practicing massage for the past three years and has over 1600 hours in both hands on and educational hours. Lisa became a part of UCSD's FitLife Team in March 2011 and is enjoying it very much! She is currently taking on new clients.
